What Happened During The Disturbance?

Allegedly, it all started when a juvenile punched a 17 year old in the head at McDonalds. The fight leaked out over across the street and in a few minutes, the 17 year old came back to McDonald's with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police were able to see video from McDonald's to get a more accurate version of events.

One witness at the apartment complex told police that the 2 juvenile boys knocked on her door and asked her to hide their pistols in her apartment. She also told police she saw the 17 year old holding bear spray and a knife. She then saw him cut one of the kid's fingers with a knife, but she didn't see the actual shooting.

A different witness told police they'd seen the 12 year old with a gun also.

Police in Great Falls have dealt with the 12 year old before with other issues.

The police feel it's likely that the missing gun is likely the gun that shot the 17 year old, and that they are key pieces of evidence in this case.

The 17 year old is in the hospital and it's believed they'll survive. The bullet narrowly missed the juvenile's heart.

This Place Is No Place For Kids To Hang Out

Look, I understand if you can't find another place to live other than the Phoenix Apartments. I'm so sorry for you. I've lived in some shady places, too.

I have to tell you one of my grandsons was over at the Phoenix recently and nearly got stabbed by a resident.

MY GRANDSON IS 10.

I have made it clear to my littles that they'd be better off setting themselves on fire than to have me catch them hanging out at the Phoenix Apartments. It's a pocket of perpetual violence staining our lovely little river town.
