Every Year For Around A Week, Great Falls Is Filled With The Sounds Of Fireworks

Every year, for a week or two, residents of Great Falls go round and round about if and when people should legally be able to shoot off fireworks in city limits.

Those who hate fireworks say things like:

They keep me awake
My pets are terrified
Soldiers with PTSD are terrified
Fire hazard
Bodily Harm

Those who love fireworks say things like:

This is how America has always celebrated winning our freedom
Taking away the right to shoot off fireworks is the first step to losing all freedoms

Honestly, I am kind of camp 'Merica! What kind of 4th of July are we having with snakes and sparklers?

I guess just the kind where only little kids get burned?

Hasn't anyone seen the South Park episode, Summer Sucks, where South Park bans everything but snakes and the like, and it nearly destroys the town? Do we learn nothing while being entertained?

Will Fireworks Be On The Ballot In Great Falls?

On July 29, 2025, commissioners voted 3-2 to schedule a public hearing for the August 5th meeting to decide if fireworks should be on the November ballot in Great Falls in 2025.

That was confusing to type, so in a nutshell, it will be decided August 5th if fireworks will be on the ballot in November.
