Get Caught Up: Bomb Scare At Gibson Park, Great Falls

If you don't feel like reading it, this is the story in a nutshell:

On Thursday, November 5, 2025, a person was walking their dog in Gibson Park in Great Falls. The dog stumbled upon what looked like an explosive device so the dog's human called the police.

This was on the Great Falls Police Department Facebook page:

At approximately 12:10pm today, 911 dispatchers received report of a suspicious item near the center of the south end of the park.
Investigating officers determined the item has characteristics of an explosive device and, out of an abundance of caution, we've requested the assistance of Malmstrom Air Force Base EOD squad.
Please stay away from the south part of Gibson Park, nearest Park Dr N and 1st Ave N, and follow instructions of emergency personnel at the scene. Thanks for your patience and cooperation as we work to ensure safety for everyone in the surrounding area.

The Item WAS A Homemade Explosive Device

Cool. So now, we have to worry about bombs in Great Falls on top of all of the other things going on.
