3-Year-Old Found Dead In Lima, Mother In Custody

3 Year Old Child Found Dead At Home In Lima, Montana

On Thursday, October 16, 2025 Nichole Lynn Boyer called the Beaverhead County Sheriff's Office to say that her young son who had been ill was now dead and in her home.

Allegedly, Boyer told the responding undersheriff, "Just take me to jail."

Boyer Told The Officers Of The Incident:

• In August 2025, Boyer said she became overwhelmed from caring for her son as well as 3 other sick children in her home along with her dad who was also sick
• Her son had spina bifida, club feet and hydrocephalus (where fluid accumulates in the brain.)
• The boy could only army crawl to get around due to his conditions
• Had the speech development of a one year old
• She said her son got a fever in the summer that she thought was from teething
• At that time she stated she checked on her son 4 times per day giving him food and water
• She stopped caring for the child who died in September
• Says she doesn't remember any of September 2025
• Admitted her neglect contributed to the death of her son
• Didn't want to believe he was dead until that morning when she called the police
• She allegedly mentioned many times she should go to jail

What The Officer's Walked Into At The Boyer Residence

• The smell of decomposing human remains overtook the officers upon entering the home
• Noted the poor condition of the home: floors and surfaces in the house were covered with filth, food, animal feces and animal urine and the home was covered in trash
• The dead child was found upstairs in a bedroom laying on a pile of laundry and garbage and he was covered with sweatshirt laying next to a mattress
• The young child was in an advanced state of decomposition
• Three other children and an adult were in the home and removed

Boyer is at the Beaverhead County Jail booked on deliberate homicide. We'll update you as the story progresses.
