Great Falls Kindergarteners: Safety Town Is Back For The Summer
There's A New Town In Town
Great Falls is excited to welcome back Safety Town just in time for summer. There are 2 week camps open to children entering kindergarten with both a morning camp and an afternoon camp.
What Is Safety Town?
From Bison Business:
"Safety Town was established in 1937 by a police officer and a kindergarten teacher after a child was hit by a car and killed walking to school. It started with traffic safety and has expanded to other areas. Our program is offered in partnership with Great Falls Public Schools-Community Enrichment, the National Safety Town Center, and Great Falls Public Schools Foundation."
Safety Town combines fun with safety education for littles entering Kindergarten. Students at the camp will learn safe practices and emergency preparedness.
Safety Town has one goal, to cut down accidental injuries and deaths of young children through education and constructive play. Children leave Safety Town feeling empowered with knowledge.
Where And When Is Safety Town?
It's at Skyline Early Learning Family Center June 17-28th. There are 2 sessions available, one in the morning from 9am-Noon and the other is an afternoon class from 1pm-4pm.
