And you're sitting there like, is Pinterest deviant? I know they talk about banning TikTok, but it's not deviant, is it?

It's a scam.

The good news is, they're not very good at it. YET.

The bad news is, with every failed blackmail attempt, they figure out one more way to hook ya.

They Use Information That Anyone Can Get

KOIN reports that online scammers will:

• Use public records or information from data breaches
• Will sent you a picture of your home from Google Street view
• Will ask for payment in something untraceable like Bitcoin or gift cards
• Threaten to come to your home if you don't comply

How To Spot The Scam And What To Do

• Of course, never give out any of your information
• The threats will lack credibility and are never specific
• Details of the threat will be weird and lack details
• DO NOT respond
• Report as spam or phishing
• Do NOT pay anything

Remember, the generalities of never saying what they "saw you do" and not sending you actual screen shots are screaming scam. Also, as with a lot of the scams we deal with, their English is poor and broken.
