In January, the Pew Research Center published their findings going into dry January. Here are some facts about Americans and alcohol:
- 62% of American adults say they drink occasionally
- 38% of Americans say they completely abstain from alcohol
- Middle aged adults with higher incomes and college students more likely to drink
- 19% of drinking adults say they overindulge
- Americans are drinking less beer and more wine than they used to
- Per capita consumption is highest in the west and lowest in the south
- Adults 18-35 are less likely to be drinkers than ever before
- Ages 55 plus are more likely to drink than their contemporaries
- Beer, wine and liquor sales are highest in December

Those of us that live in Big Sky Country aren't limiting ourselves to just one drink, but I'm guessing, it's not what you're expecting, because I wasn't. In Montana, our two favorite drinks are:

What is America's Favorite Adult Beverage?
According to Fortune, that would be the Aperol Spritz. An Aperol Spritz is a mix of Aperol, Prosecco, club soda and a slice of orange. It looks nice and refreshing.
This isn't the kind of drink that you can make in advance and pour to your guests from a pitcher. This is a drink that needs to be made one at a time. Ice and soda don't mix well for the long term.
