Introduced by Senator Tom McGillvray, Republican, Billings, Senate Bill 307 would redirect money allocated to conservation and outdoor recreation in Montana to substance use disorder treatment and law enforcement.

In a hearing before the Senate Business, Labor and Economic Affairs Committee, McGillvray said,
"“If marijuana taxes are directed toward parks, trails and wildlife habitat, then who has to pick up the cost of the harms that come from the legalization and the use of marijuana? Do we want to have property taxes [going toward] more treatment, more crisis centers [for] people who are suffering from psychosis or mental challenges from the use of marijuana?”
Those opposing the bill say it goes against the will of the Montana voter that was made known in 2020.
A Treatment Center Works For All Addictions
Finding a statistic for Montanans getting treatment for Marijuana addiction is tough. I couldn't find any definitive number for just cannabis.
This is my thought: Do we really need over 60 million dollars to treat marijuana addiction? Seriously. Do. We. Need. It? Or, stay with me
Somebody either: doesn't like cannabis and will try and find all kinds of ways to ruin it for Montanans, or doesn't give a rats ass what we want and was elected to forward their own agenda?
