June 18, 2025 FreshRealm voluntarily recalled their chicken alfredo products due to a possible listeria exposure. Believe it our not, this scare has been going on since last year.
Is Your Favorite On The Chopping Block?
The listeria was found during a routine check of the chicken fettuccini alfredo in March. The batch where the listeria was discovered was tossed and never sent out.
So far, the cause of the listeria contamination hasn't been found.

To Date, 3 People And A Fetus Have Died From This Listeria Contamination
This is deadly and it was sent all over the country, including Montana.
Between July 24 of 2024 and May 10, 2025 the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention has reported deaths in Illinois, Michigan and Texas.
Illnesses tied to the chicken have been reported in 13 states to date. The fear is that the contaminated foods are still in freezers around the country.
What Is Listeria?
My mom got this from pickled shrimp when I was in 5th grade. The memory of her nearly dying from vomiting and diarrhea while my dad called 911 to get her to the hospital and the paramedics showing up and hauling her away are BURNED into my mind.
From Merriam-Webster:
A disease or sickness caused by infection with this bacterium: listeriosis
