Growing up in a small town and attending an even smaller public school, I think I have a slight tainted memory of school menus. Or maybe I look through rose-colored glasses? I always thought we had some great meals as kids. Perhaps it was the country living and more traditional meals being served. Although pizza day was still the ultimate.

GFPS Offering School Lunches AND School Breakfast

In Great Falls, our school system is already offering breakfast for students. This is great for our students. Statistics, surveys and studies all show that the evidence suggest that breakfast consumption has a generally positive effect on cognitive performance. Other studies claim:

Regularly eating breakfast was consistently positively associated with improved school performance. Regular breakfast eaters have significantly higher marks for science and English compared to those who never eat breakfast.
