IPhone Alarm Going Silent? Here Is The Fix
- As of 2018, 64.92% of smartphone users in Montana are using IOS
- There are 155 million iPhone users in America
- Until last week, my iPhone alarm had never once let me down
Last Week, I Overslept 3 Times
It was so strange, for the first time in I don't even remember how long, I overslept. 3 times. I couldn't believe it. Fortunately, I wasn't working last week, so I wasn't TECHNICALLY late for anything, but my sleep cycle got all wackadoodle.
I also have alarms on my google device, but I had turned them off for the week, so I was relying solely on my iPhone to get me up.
For The Past Month, Other iPhone Users Had The Same Issue
I noticed when I woke up early and was playing games or something, my alarm would go off without a sound and I couldn't figure it out. Since I had other alarms on google, I just chalked it up to a stupid update, and forgot about it.

Suddenly, tons of people on TikTok and other apps were saying how their iPhone alarms had let them down, too.
Turns Out, There's A New Feature On The iPhone
Huffpost is reporting that savvy iPhone users think they've found where the glitch is coming from.
It's an AI feature that came in 2023 called Attention Aware. Attention Aware uses the camera to see if someone is actively on their iPhone, and adjust the settings to match the activity.

It seems the phone may mistake someone hitting snooze from someone who is using their phone, and it will silence the alarm.
There Is A Work Around For This Annoying New Feature
To make sure your alarms do not go silent on your iPhone:
- Go to settings
- Go to accessibility
- Go to face ID & Attention
- Turn off Attention Aware Features
Sleep well, friends.
