Before you head off on your hike, let's go over a few tips to help keep you safe. It's best to be overprepared than underprepared, especially when it comes to your safety.

All Trails' Favorite 10 Montana trails:

  1. Avalanche Lake: Moderate trail. Runs nearly 6 miles and should take around 1 1/2 hours to hike
  2. Grinnell Glacier Trail: Hard trail. Runs around 10 miles and will take around 5 hours to finish
  3. Hidden Lake Overlook: Moderate trail. Runs almost 3 miles and should last around 1 1/2 hours to complete
  4. Iceberg Lake: Moderate trail. About 9 1/2 miles taking around 4 hours and 15 minutes total
  5. St. Mary and Virginia Falls Trail: Hike is around 3 miles and generally takes around 1 1/2 hours to finish
  6. Trail of the Cedars: Easy trail. Under a mile and takes roughly 20 minutes to complete
  7. Highline Trail: Hard trail. Just under 15 miles, this hike generally takes right around 7 hours to do
  8. Hidden Lake: Moderate trail. Hike is right around 5 miles and takes about 3 hours
  9. Granite Park Chalet via Highline and Granite Park Trail: Hard Trail. Right around 11 miles and 6 hours to complete
  10. Fairy Falls Trail: Easy trail. The hike is just under 5 miles and takes around an hour and 1/2
