Food Recall: Two Brands of Ham Salad Recalled for Listeria
The USDA issued a public health alert regarding ham salad products containing breadcrumb products that are potentially contaminated with listeria.
The products in question were sold under the brands Reser's Fine Foods and Molly's Kitchen.
The specific containers to be avoid are:
- 12 ounce tubs of Reser's Fine Foods Ham Salad, Sell By Date of 9/1/2025
- 5 pound tubs of Molly's Kitchen Ham Salad, Sell By Date of 8/31/2025
Any one who has purchased either product is advised not to eat it, and either throw it out or return it.
The recall was issued after Reser's discovered the breadcrumb products used, from Newly Weds Foods, were recalled by the FDA over listeria contamination.
There haven't been any confirmed reports of sickness connected to this recall so far. Symptoms of eating listeria-contaminated food include:
- Fever
- Muscle aches
- Headaches
- Stiff Neck
- Confusion
- Loss of balance and / or consciousness
- Diarrhea
- Other Gastrointestinal symptoms
Listeriosis can also result in a severe infection, which is especially dangerous for people in high-risk medical categories, such as those who are pregnant or have a weakened immune system.
