Is It Just Me Or Are Vehicle Thefts On The Rise In Great Falls?

First thing I see upon opening my phone last Friday morning was a post by my cousin, Jessica saying her SUV had been stolen. Cool.

So luckily for my cousin, she got her sweet Caddy back. But that doesn't change the fact that I'm hearing more and more about vehicle theft in Great Falls.

Then I find out today that our very own Baker Bob had his pickup stolen the other day. He also got his rig back, but again, that doesn't change the fact that I'm hearing about more and more vehicle theft in Great Falls.

Last year, a very good friend and former Great Falls High Teacher's Aide had HER car stolen. She, too, got her car back, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm hearing about more and more vehicle theft in Great Falls.

Are There Actual Numbers About Car Theft In The Electric City?

I wanted to see if we had a lot of stolen vehicles or it just SEEMS like we do since I know so many victims.

From these pictures, you can see we have vehicles stolen and burglarized quite a bit in Great Falls. The #2 reason I have a garage after weather in Montana.

What Do I Do If My Vehicle Is Stolen?

AAA has this advice if your vehicle is stolen:

1. Make model and color of your vehicle
2. License plate number and Vehicle Identification Number
3. Where the vehicle was last located
4. Physical condition of the scene
5. Whether the vehicle has GPS
6. When you think the vehicle was stolen
