Fairmont Hot Springs In Anaconda Montana Announces A Multi-Phase Pool Project
One of the premier hot springs resorts in Montana is remodeling. On their Facebook page, Fairmont announced a plan that will add 6 new pools to the resort, even some adult only pools. The remodeling will be done in 2 phases and the outdoor pools at Fairmont Hot Springs will be open throughout the remodel.

What Are The Phases Of The Fairmont Remodel?
Phase 1 to be completed by spring or summer of 2026:
- Tiered adult-only soaking pools will be added
- Main soaking pool with center water feature
- Cold plunge
- 3 lane lap pool
Phase 2 will begin construction in the fall of 2026:
- Removal of existing outdoor pools to be replaced with new kids activities pool
- Large waterfall feature
- Attached waterslide runout lane
- Overhead walking bridge
- Splash pad
- Large on deck fire pit area and more comfy seating and cabana areas
There will be renovations on the indoor pools in the summer of 2027.

Fairmont Hot Springs Facts:
- Native Americans called the springs "Medicine Water"
- George and Elie Gregson bought the hot springs from a squatter for $60 In 1869
- The Gregson brothers built a 2 story hotel on the property
- Miles French leased the resort from the Gregsons in 1890
- The townsite was plotted in 1892
- In 1901 the resort was sold to Con Hayes and James Breen
- In 1914 some buildings, including the dance hall caught on fire
- In 1971 the resort had to be closed because the walls were collapsing
- In 1971 it was announced that there were plans for a new resort that included a golf course
- In 1972 Lloyd Wilder became the prime owner of the hot springs. He also had the hot springs of the same name in British Columbia
- Leroy Hayes bought it in 1981
- In 1990 the resort was sold back to Lloyd Wilder
Who knew there was that much history there? Not this girl, that's for sure.
