Ahhhh the fair. The rides, the exhibits, the animals, the people watching, the FOOD.  OMG! The fair food.

As a person growing up in Central Montana the State Fair IS my fair.  I rarely attended any of the smaller county fairs around the state. Not that I didn't want to. Fairs are held in the summer. Summer is a very busy time on a farm.  Somehow, my mom and dad would always be able to cut out a couple of days for us during fair week to come down and take in the sights, sounds, rides, games, and FOOD.

While A Familiar Favorite May Be Out This Year, There Is Plenty Of Fair Food To Be Had

While the Vikings are out for 2024, there is still plenty of deep fried yum to be had.

My newest favorite at the fair is the Cow Pie.  That burger and cheese and stuff deep fried between a couple of pieces of bread.  Oh yeah. Just what the doctor would never order, and it. was. spectacular.

Tonight, I'll be grabbing a couple of pieces of deep fried art you can eat, the pork chop sandwich from Brian's Top Notch Café, for my mom and me after the concert. I wait all year for that sandwich.

For some reason, everything tastes better on the midway at the fairgrounds.
