Your Best Bet for Burgers Near Flathead Lake in Montana

It feels like summer is already in Montana and normally, it might feel weird that May is both hamburger month and barbeque month, but this May, at least so far, it feels appropriate.

That means you might find yourself wandering towards Flathead Lake sooner than you might normally, and nothing says summer like catching some sun, enjoying the lake, and eating burgers. While some places will be closer to the lake than others if you have a hankering for a hamburger, here are a few places worth a try.

Burgertown, Big Fork, Montana

Rave reviews, an average of 4.7 stars on Google, and shoutouts for huckleberry shakes. It's not a Montana meal without a little huckleberry thrown in there somewhere.

Mavericks Road House & Casino, Lakeside Montana

This spot is located on the east side of Flathead Lake and has a menu with a lot of other things to offer, too, but you can definitely get a solid burger and visitors rave about their fries.

The Lodge at Lake Mary Ronan, Proctor, Montana

Their Montana burger is made using Waygu beef which, if you've never tried it, is some of the best-tasting beef there is.

Mountain Meadows Resort Grill, Proctor, Montana

The Hog, The Heiffer, or the Kickin' Bourbon BBQ--throw on a side of tots and or waffle fries and your taste buds will be dancing.

Frugals, Kalispell, Montana

A little further drive from Flathead Lake, but if you're a Frugals devotee, it's good to know that there are actually two locations in Kalispell.

The Chuck Wagon Bar and Grill, Dayton, Montana

They're under new ownership and in the summer of 2022 they expanded their hours. Fans of this place rave that it's "one of those places where everyone knows your name...and you know theirs." Others applaud the great views of the lake.
