I Am A Child Of The 70's
Being born in the late 1900's, my formative years were in the 1970's. I drank from the hose, left the house in the morning and came back for supper, ate dirt, played with clackers and lawn darts. I am a child of the 70's.
Sometimes, I Miss The 70's
Trust me when I say it's not the fashion or the color palette I miss. It's not the beatings or the don't speak until you're spoken and such that children of that era were raised with.
I miss the food sometimes.

For the record, I have to say I DO NOT miss Jell-O with stuff in it, like carrots and other atrocities. I DO NOT miss liver and onions and pickled beets.
I think I just miss the nostalgia of the my mom's cooking and cereal with actual prizes in the box and things like that.
I've been thinking about it a lot lately. Here's Why.
It Tastes Like The 70's
We were in the grocery store and I said something like there's that mac and cheese I always used to get you girls.
My daughter says, "Yeah, I always hated it, but never said anything because you liked it so much."
And out of my mouth comes, "I like it because it tastes like the 70's". And it's true. Thing is, I didn't even know that's why I liked it until I said it.
