When you think of Montana, what kind of sauce do you think about? Could you pinpoint a taste that is uniquely Montanan?

I'll tell you that I was somewhat stumped on this, because as a Montanan myself, I can never decide what sauce I like, when I go somewhere to get let's say nuggets or fries I grab all sorts of different styles to get a bit of everything because I can never decide on a flavor profile.

One would almost think that the go-to sauce would be ranch, or ketchup, barbecue, or Tabasco on eggs for crying out loud because what comes next will surely put you out of you seat. I asked around the office and they were just as stumped as I was about the information put forth.

According to this food map on Reddit, Montana's favorite is TARTAR SAUCE.

Now, before you fire up those keyboards and shoot the messenger, I'm not even sure where people got this or what question was asked in this survey, because some of this data goes from sauce territory to condiment literally without batting an eye.

Friends including former restaurant workers told me that the usual sauce or condiment they get asked for is Frank's, Tabasco, and the illustrious ranch. Tartar sauce never seems to be an option outside of a fish dishes here in Montana.

As you can see a lot of everywhere else looks like ketchup is number one. I'd like to question that myself.

Are you from Montana and love you some Tartar sauce, or is this metric way off?
