People in Montana head to the Montana State Fair every year for the rides, Concerts, rodeo and displays. However in reality, they actually flock to the special event for the delicious fried food offered by many vendors.

One would think Montana's favorite fried food would be the foot-long corn dog, the cow pie burger, cheese curds or the legendary Viking on a stick.

They used analytics from google including searches, TV networks and various food and home magazines over 12 months studying the trends of certain fried food at state and county fairs and came out with results.

It may seem crazy to think that THIS food item is Montana's favorite, there are many options at the state fair to choose from and I'm not directly sure if one can find sweet potato fries at the food midway.

However, I can attest that as a Montanan, I do often order the option for sweet potato fries at a restaurant and have been doing for years because I trick my mind by saying to myself that it's a new, refreshing side option.
