It has been some time since I had to dip my toes into the dating pool, so when I heard about a green ring becoming the thing for dating, it seemed oddly strange to me.  After learning a little more about that green ring though, I think this is one of the best ideas to come from the internet and today's times.

Have you seen someone out in the public with a greenish colored ring on their finger?  Did you know what it meant?

Taking Out the Internet and Becoming More Personable in Real Life

If you are one of those with a swimsuit on and heading to the pool of dating, perhaps you already know about the green ring.  Or maybe you are still sitting on any one of those dating apps that you are swiping constantly on.  Which, according to statistics, are on the downslide of being the way to connect with a new relationship.  The idea of being able to actually meet and talk with someone on a real date is coming back.

Enter in the green ring.  Or the pear ring.  A societal experiment in dating.

The website Pear Ring is the official site of the new dating feature.  The idea behind the ring is that if you are wearing one, it signifies that you are available and willing to talk with someone.

The secondary benefit of this "social experiment" is that it makes people talk with each other in person, rather than behind a keyboard and screen.  The company also offers a different ring for the LGBTQ+ community.

Have you seen one?  Are you wearing one in Great Falls?  What has been the reaction if you do?  Let us know in the comments of our social media, through our appchat feature or via email here.
