Great Falls Community Bands Putting On Two Free Concerts in April
It's that time of year again. The Great Falls Community Bands are getting ready for their spring concerts.
The Community Jazz Band, directed by John Gemberling, will hold their spring concert, titled "Jazz on Broadway", at 7pm on Friday, April 5th.
The Community Concert Band, directed by Dennis Granlie and Terry "TK" Knowles, will hold their concert, "Spring Celebration", Sunday, April 7th at 2pm. This concert is dedicated to Tom Railsback, a long-time member of both the Municipal Band and the Community Concert Band.
Both concerts will be held at New Hope Lutheran Church, 3125 5th Ave. South, in Great Falls. Admission is free, but there will be a free-will offering at both concerts to benefit New Hope, which allows both groups to use the church facilities for both performances and rehearsal space.
After that, many members of the two groups will get ready for the summer concert season as members of the Great Falls Municipal Band and their free concerts at the bandshell at Gibson Park. Keep your eyes peeled for that schedule.
