According to ElleDecor.com, the Moss Mansion in Billings is the most historic home in the Treasure State. It was built in 1903 by entrepreneur Preston Boyd Moss and his wife Martha Ursula Woodson Moss, who was the daughter of a former Virginia governor. The home has been featured in several movies such as Son of the Morning Star and Return to Lonesome Dove. The mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Moss Manion features 28 rooms and the interior is adorned with exquisite furnishings and original artwork. It was designed by Henry Janeway Hardenbergh, the same architect that designed the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. The youngest daughter lived in the mansion until the mid-1980s.


Now, the Moss Mansion serves as a historical museum. It can also be reserved for weddings and other special occasions. Visitors can take guided tours of the mansion which usually take about an hour.
