Great Falls High Bison Football

Will the real bison, please stand up.

It's been an interesting first two games to start the March to the playoffs this fall.
Game one was a shocker and could have spelled doom for the rest of the season, but the coaches  were able to rally the Bison for a spectacular full game, a display of offense, defense and special teams play and hold a AA opponent to a goose egg on the scoreboard. Granted they were opponents at opposite ends of the spectrum. Kalispell Glacier and Missoula. Hellgate are not typical examples of football at this level.

Now the Bison coaches have the task of getting the athletes to focus on a conference opponent, the winless Belgrade Panthers. Can we expect Riley Collette and the run first attack of Isayah Brown and Ryder English to repeat their performance of last week?
Will the defense be able to hold the opponent back and frustrate the Panther passing attack? Could there be a letdown?
Belgrade has shown a weak passing game with only six passes to five different receivers.  Number 36, Aschim is their leading rusher with an average of only 66 yards per contest. Look for the Bison to force Belgrade to run the ball more than they would like and let's enjoy a fun bus ride back home.

CMR Rustler Football

The Billings West Golden Bears are backed into a corner coming out at 0 and 2 to face the 2 and 0 high flying Rustlers. The Bears had lost two squeakers, a 7 point loss to Helena at home and got ambushed at the end by Butte High at Naranche by 21 to 17. They will come in with a purpose-- defeat The Rustlers at all costs.

Caleb Taylor and the balanced attack has provided plenty to be happy about and build on this season for CMR. With six touchdowns so far this young season and his surehanded receivers, he completes over 50% of his passes using those seven receivers.  In the rushing department,  the tandem of Clement and Fuller are close to 400 yards already. It will be fun to see which style will carry the evening.

The Bears quarterback has an arm and the receivers we've come to expect from West. McDowell has thrown for 411 yards and completes over 50% of his passes to 6 capable receivers. While only getting 195 yards this season on the ground.  Coach Morris will have to stymie the pass happy Bears to win the night.
