I would love to be independently wealthy and never have to rely on a job to pay my bills. Unfortunately, I am not independently wealthy, so I continue to work just as millions of others across America and Montana do every day.
However, there are millions more out there who right now are struggling to find work to pay their bills.

In a perfect world everyone would have a job, and there would be no unemployment for anyone.
Since we don't live in a perfect world, there are currently 7.2 million people in America without a job but are still actively seeking employment.
That puts our national unemployment rate at 4.2%, which held steady from the previous month but was up 0.2% from a year ago. Now what about Montana's stats?

Here closer to home, our unemployment sits far below the national average, as we currently have an unemployment rate of 2.8%, which was a 0.2% drop from one year ago.
It also means that right now there are 16,000 Montanans who don't have a job and are actively looking for work.
The trouble is, depending on where you are looking for a job, you might be applying for the same job as your neighbor.
