To Out Dearest Daisy Mae,

We never could have imagined how much joy and love you would bring into our home and hearts, 14 years ago. I know that our time together is drawing to a close. But before you have to leave us, there are a few things I hope you know as you start your next journey to the rainbow bridge.

I hope you know; you brought us joy that no words can fully capture from the very first day you entered your home. Your wagging tail and loving eyes greeted us after long, tiring days, filling our hearts with happiness. You were not just a pet; you were family. You brought us immeasurable love, laughter, and solace.

I hope you know; you were more than a friend. You were our guardian. Your watchful eyes and protective nature made us feel safe, day and night. There were years that you made the boys and I feel safe while Bret worked out of town. You never left our side whether it was hiking in the mountains, or a walk on River's Edge Trail. I don't know how many sleepless nights you had when I would drag you camping with Cindy and I. You were always on patrol guarding the entry way into my tent. You truly were our protector, and I hope you know that.
