FAILED TO FILL OUT THE JURY SELECTION QUESTIONNAIRE? YOU’RE NOW ON A LIST
It's The Law
Governed by the Montana Code Annotated, all individuals must acknowledge and act upon notifications from the Clerk of Courts.
Failure to respond to these critical notices triggers a sequence of events outlined by law aimed at ensuring compliance.
If You Ignore The Jury Questionnaire
The clerk must report the failure to the Sheriff.
Subsequently, the Sheriff is mandated to personally serve the notice to the individual and take reasonable measures to compel their response.
Persistent non-responders face public notification of their names, accompanied by direct service of the notice by a deputy.
To obtain the questionnaire, residents have several options.
- In-person Collection: Visit either the Cascade Clerk of District Court office situated at 415 2nd Ave N, Suite 200A, or the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office located at 3800 Ulm North Frontage Rd.
- Online Access: Download and print the questionnaire by visiting the official Cascade County website at https://www.cascadecountymt.gov/456/Jury. On the Jury page, navigate to the first heading titled "District Court Jury Information/Juror Questionnaire" and click on "Juror Questionnaire."
Importantly, all completed questionnaires must be submitted to the clerk of court no later than December 15, 2023.
Failure to adhere to this deadline holds serious consequences, potentially resulting in being held in contempt of court.
