New Winter Forecast: What Montana Can Expect This Year
Farmers' Almanac Extended Winter Forecast
With school starting up soon, it seems as if this summer has been one of the fastest summers I've experienced in Montana.
It's also been one of the nicest, smoke-free, and mildest summers we've had as well.

A Montana Summer to Remember
Maybe it's only me, but it just feels as if this summer was, in one word, calm.
While we did have some days of temperatures going over triple digits, and there have been some fires under the Big Sky, it's been a pretty calm summer weather wise.
Too bad the same can't be said about our upcoming winter forecast if we are to believe the just-released extended forecast from the Farmers' Almanac.
Montana Gets The Coldest Temperatures And Multiple Cold Snaps
I do not like the fact they are calling their 2025-2026 Winter Weather Forecast "Chill, Snow, Repeat."
They say we'll be experiencing a "classic winter wonderland" this year along with some "impressive snowfall totals" in the mountainous western half of Montana.
The worst part of their prediction is they say we'll have some of the coldest temperatures in America, including two cold snaps predicted for mid-January and then another in mid-February.
After reading their forecast, it kind of sounds like every winter I've experienced in Montana, so maybe I was wrong to say it won't be a calm winter in the Treasure State; perhaps the correct way to phrase it would have been to say we'll have a normal winter.
