One of my favorite things about America as a melting pot is the incredible variety of food that this country offers.

You can travel the world trying out different foods from all corners of the earth, but today we're talking about where to get the best Mexican food in Montana.

I love Mexican food, even the Americanized version of it, but there is nothing better than authentic Mexican food.

One might think that because Montana is so far from the southern border, it might lack delicious places to enjoy true Mexican food.

Thankfully, those of us under the Big Sky are in luck, because we have one of the best Mexican restaurants in America right here in the Treasure State.

From Mexico to Montana: A Delicious Journey

Evelyn Hammond, who owns and runs La Tinga in Billings, is a native of Mexico herself and every day is serving up made-from-scratch meals.

Love Food, the food blog website, recently named this restaurant the best place to get authentic Mexican food in Montana.

La Tinga has been filling the bellies of Montana residents since they opened in 2011, and while they might have been named the best Mexican food in the state (oddly enough they beat out their own location in Bozeman), there are plenty of other amazing restaurants offering up a variety of foods.
