Hostess Is Recalling Ding Dongs Across The United States Of America
At the end of August, 2025, JM Smucker Company announced that they're recalling some lots of Ding Dongs by Hostess. JM Smucker Company has concerns that the packages could contain mold.

From the JM Smucker Company:
“Our root cause investigation confirmed a mechanical issue with a piece of equipment created conditions that could support the development of mold in the product prior to the expiration date. This mechanical issue was present for a limited period and resolved in a timely manner.”
No other Hostess or JM Smucker brands are contaminated with mold, or suspected to be contaminated with mold.
