Oh The Wonderful Things You Can Do At The Zoo…Montana
When was the last time you grabbed the fam and went to the zoo? It's not much of a drive to spend some time at one of the top rated zoos in the world, ZooMontana.
ZooMontana is located just off I-90 on Zoo drive west of Billings. The really cool thing about our zoo is they dedicate themselves to the conservation of OUR wildlife, Montana and the 45th parallel of earth. There are more than 80 animals at the zoo and 56 different species. They live by how well the animals are cared for at the zoo, not how many animals they can get in the zoo. They're not funded by tax dollars either, and ZooMontana continues to lead by donating to charities near and dear to Montanans.
One of the really neat features of ZooMontana is it's also an accredited arboretum and educational facility. Kids growing up around the Billings area have spent educational time at the zoo creating experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.
Way back in around 1991 or so, I was working radio in Billings, and we had an awesome concert out there. In those days it was pretty awesome, Exile and Sawyer Brown. Fast forward to now, and ZooMontana still does concerts at the zoo. If you've never been to one, I highly recommend weaving one or two of them into your future plans.
Make a day or two of it and enjoy all that Billings has to offer while you're at it. Billings has great shopping, a lot of hotels, and some REALLY good local restaurants and steakhouses as well as chain restaurants. It's a fun place to spend the weekend.
For an affordable family adventure you won't soon forget, I highly recommend a trip to ZooMontana. Check out everything from hours and ticket prices to concerts and events on their website.
