The Rumor Of Walmarts Closing All Started On TikTok

I do love a good day wasted on TikTok. Especially on days where real news is happening that perhaps is being throttled by other outlets. (Believe me, it's true when you hear some news outlets only tell half truths.)

It started when someone said something about looting a Walmart when SNAP is cut on November 1, 2025. Then a bunch of TikTok creators decided they would use your vulnerability to get some more clicks on their videos and maybe some more businesses to pay them for those clicks. Whether the story is real or not is incidental.

Newsweek reports that this creator @Uncutrealness, has received over a million views on this video where she lies right to you with a straight face and goes on to blame it on people who said they'd loot the store. Below is a quote from the @uncutrealness video:

"Ya'll keep acting a fool and saying what ya'll going to do when ya'll don't get ya'll SNAP benefits. Well Walmart has just released what they're going to do. Walmart said their doors will be locked."

What a pathetic liar. It's just so infuriating to me, but I digress.

Newsweek spoke to Walmart and this is the statement regarding November 1, 2025:

"We will continue to be open for business"--Walmart Spokesperson

So, I guess I'll see you Saturday at Walmart then.
