Montanans: The Inside Scoop On Pepsi Ditching Dew Energy
Remember back in the day where Mountain Dew was what you drank to get all the energy? I'm mean Back. In. The. Day. Like the late 1900's.
Fast forward to today, and Mountain Dew is NOT the go-to it once was for an extra boost of energy. Now, there is an incredibly large market for energy drinks. IBIS World says that as of 2023, there are 189 brands of energy drinks in the United States, up 17% from the year 2022.
Pepsi Discontinues A Mountain Dew From The Line-Up, Mountain Dew Energy
From IBIS World, this is what Pepsi had to say about the change:
"After careful consideration, we will be discontinuing MTN Dew Energy. We are incredibly grateful for your support. Fear not, Rockstar has your back for your energy needs. Find your flavor today," the company posted.
Rockstar's website also has a so-long to the soda on it's site stating:

In The Past Few Years, A Lot Of Sodas Have Been Discontinued
For me, the 2 most surprising sodas to be discontinued were Tab and Sierra Mist. Sierra Mist had about a 24 year run with Pepsi before they decided to send it to the soda farm. For Tab, that run was 60 years. One of my clearest memories of the 70's are those red Tab cans and all the women who swore it was delicious and helped them stay thin.
