The Montana Freedom Caucus; Is It REALLY About Freedom?

Let's talk about the Montana Freedom Caucus. After what happened in Helena this week and last week, I thought I'd look into it.

Last week Zooey Zephyr, Representative HD 100, was quoted as saying in regards to a bill that would ban gender affirming care for minors: (From Associated Press)

I hope the next time there’s an invocation, when you bow your heads in prayer, you see the blood on your hands

This statement rocked conservatives in the house. (By the way, you can find similar quotes in the bible like this one Ezekil 3:18-19

If I say to the wicked, 'You shall surely die,' and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.)

Just saying. (Radical conservatives LOVE them some sweet bible quotes.)

They refused to let her speak next session.

Then Monday, seven Montanans were arrested in Helena after protesting Republican House Speaker Matt Regier who has refused to call on a democrat transgender state Representative Zooey Zephyr until she apologized. They chanted "Let her speak".

Now the Montana Freedom Caucus is calling for immediate disciplinary action for against Zephyr "for the encouragement of capitol violence".

The Montana Freedom Caucus is a branch of The Freedom Caucus that was started in January 2023.

Thing is, members of this group are CONSISTENTLY trying to force their values and way of life on others in America and now Montana. They want to censure this woman for quoting the bible while they try to take away a woman's right to make decisions about her own life and body, I could rant for days on this. The list of BS from these so called patriots is longer than the state in miles. And they say they're representing us. It's ironic, isn't it? They seek to take away your freedoms and way of life all while singing the song of representing constituents.

For example, The Hill, a conservative publication, says 80 percent of Americans are in favor of protections and rights for the LGBTQ+ Community.

The Pew Research Center reports that 61 percent of Americans are in favor of the right to choose.

The Montana Freedom Caucus has 21 legislators registered in the group. They are:

Manzella, the group's chairman, describing the Montana Freedom Caucus, said

We are the watchmen on the wall. More than that, we are the firewall for freedom.

Game of Thrones much? Being a firewall for freedom means ALLOWING IT, not RESTRICTING IT. Didn't John Snow teach them anything? You think he wanted to kill Dani? It was the right thing to do for the seven kingdoms. You do what's best for voters, for the citizens of Montana, not yourself.

It's time for YOU to be aware that this is going on RIGHT HERE. The only way to stop it is spotlight it, talk about it, THEN VOTE IT OUT.
