Interactive Map Makes Navigating River's Edge Trail Easy

Having spent most of my adult life in Great Falls, I have seen some amazing changes and improvements come to our city over the years.  A quick list of great things include:

  • several large flags flying proudly across town
  • updates to our waterparks
  • updates at city parks
  • the Veteran's Memorial

That list could go on and on of great things in Great Falls.  One of those great things I really need to take advantage of more often is the River's Edge Trail along the Missouri River and smack dab through the city.

From the Smallest of Trails to Miles of Area Covered in Great Falls

I mention the changes above because I remember when the trail first started.  Pretty much a dirt path that would get a weed whacker run over it occasionally.  But over the years the trail has become a definite diamond in our crown of cool things in Great Falls.

Remarkably, the trail encompasses nearly 60 miles of winding walking, biking and running area through the Electric City.  According to the website, the trail features "spectacular views of the mountains, prairies, river canyons, waterfalls, reservoirs, and five hydroelectric dams while also connecting to Great Falls’ historic downtown, numerous parks, dining options, and attractions."

How To Find All Those Attractions on the River's Edge Trail

If you are like me and haven't been on the trail for a while, it may seem a tad daunting with the mention of 60 miles.  But it doesn't have to be a huge headache figuring out stuff thanks to the City of Great Falls.

The city website offers an interactive map that helps discover all the features and attractions along the trail.  Need a bathroom?  Feet killing you and need a break on a bench?  You can find them all through the map available here.
