For many the mentioning of the words "extra-curricular activities" probably means one of a couple of different things. In our school system across Montana, you would probably think normal activities.
Activities like basketball, football, track and volleyball are probably near the top of the list in any given order. But what about bowhunting as an extra-curricular program in our schools. Did you know there is such a thing?
National Archery in Schools Program in over 70 Schools in Montana
The National Archery in Schools Program in Montana is available at over 70 different schools across the state. According to NASP,
"Students shoot at bullseye targets placed before an arrow resistant net in their gymnasium. Equipment used is state-of-the art and designed to fit every student. The goal of this program is to provide middle school children with the ingredients to become involved in a life skill that has no barriers."

Students in grades 4th – 12th learn focus, self-control, discipline, patience, and the life lessons required to be successful in the classroom and in life.

Major Competition Coming to Helena in March for Montana Students
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has announced the state NASP tournament at the Fairgrounds in Helena coming March 18 and 19, 2025. Students will be competing for a chance to qualify for the Western National tournament in April in Utah.
