I'm not sure what has happened in Great Falls, but our law enforcement has been incredibly busy the past two weeks with scary incidents across the city.  And even more discouraging is that they involve juveniles in several encounters.

Monday, November 10th, 2025, started another week with law enforcement in both the city and county engaging a juvenile with the individual eventually being remanded to the County Juvenile Detention Center in Great Falls.

Law Enforcement Give Updates on Shelter in Place at GFHS

In the late morning of Monday, law enforcement at the 911 center received a call from a concerned parent regarding their child.  The 14-year-old juvenile was threating to harm themselves while still at the residence.  Dispatchers sent Cascade County Sheriff's Office deputies to the residence, located outside city limits.

As deputies were enroute to the home, the juvenile boarded a bus transporting students to Great Falls High School.  Deputies followed the bus and alerted the Great Falls Police Department, who in turn notified the School Resource Officer at GFHS.  SRO's then chose to issue the shelter in place for the school while awaiting the arrival of the bus.

Once the bus arrived at GFHS, staff members aboard the bus alerted SRO's and deputies the juvenile was armed with a knife.  Upon officer and deputies entering the bus, the youth was non-compliant with orders from them.  LE used "less-lethal impact tools to take the youth safely into custody."
