As Spring approaches, it appears that it isn't just posies and grass that are beginning to show up across Montana.  New businesses are also blooming, and if you love food and sweets, we have some great news on the horizon for you taste buds.

Social media announcements in Great Falls and some warmer days recently have me craving the creamy goodness of a new ice cream parlor coming soon, and I'm excited about a new dinner venue for a date night with my wife also on the way to the Electric City.

My wife and I try to have a "date night" a couple of times a month, so when I saw a new location that was offering "elegant scratch-made cuisine", who was I to resist!  Unfortunately, the details on this new restaurant are a little hazy at the moment.

Their social media page offers the following about the River and Range Bistro, coming to Great Falls:

Enjoy freshly made pasta and food made with love in a comfortable setting. Whether you're craving pasta, meat, seafood, River and Range Bistro is the place to go.

The details of when they are opening and where this new restaurant will be located are still under wraps.  But they do offer a few details of what their menu will be like, including Osso Bucco, Caramelle Pasta and Poach Cod Vin Blanc for main features and dessert items such as Basque Cheesecake.

You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream for Haunted Ice Cream

The other exciting news across my feed involves one of my favorites, albeit it is also a downfall, probably for you too.  Ice cream.  Nothing beats it when the heat is on.  Or even when it isn't.  And now I will have a new place to frequent in Haunted Scoops.

The new ice cream shop is promising some great new ways to enjoy a creamy favorite, and hopefully they will be open in the old Mike's Video location on the westside of Great Falls in March.

Posts from their social media show that ice cream will be made in small batches and be flash frozen using liquid nitrogen.  A soft opening for the store is expected in the next few weeks, and they even have a mascot:

But don't worry, the new ice cream parlor is kid friendly and promises much more Casper the Friendly Ghost than any conjuring going on.
