Great Falls Firefighters Respond to Another House Fire

Great Falls Fire Rescue has had a busy month and year so far in January 2025.  In just the last week, responders have had two more calls of structure fires within the city limits.

Since November of 2024, Great Falls has seen almost double-digit numbers for structure fires.  Thankfully, only minor injuries have been reported during these incidents.  But several homes have been a complete loss for families.

GFFR Responds Again to More Fires This Week in Great Falls

Another home fire sparked up on January 29, 2025, in Great Falls.  GFFR responded to 4811 2nd Avenue North for a trailer fire at 11:30pm.  According to the press release via social media:

Crews arrived to find a mobile home fully involved in fire, along with a truck and items on the exterior of the structure. It took the crews 30 minutes to get the fire under control while also dealing with a large propane tank.

Residents of the home were able to escape safely, with one person being treated for burns.  The home was a total loss, and the fire is still under investigation at this time according to GFFR.

  • Check portable heaters and shut them off when not attended.  Keep them at least 3 feet away from flammable materials.
  • Check wiring on appliances, heaters, even blankets that are heated can lead to problems
  • Make sure your furnace is up to date and running efficiently and safely
