What Happened to This Business Coming to Great Falls

A sad, but real fact is the Holiday Village Mall in Great Falls is struggling to fill space with businesses.  It isn't just our city that is experiencing this; it is happening across America more and more.  And as a GenX kid that spent entirely too much time in ours, it's sad to see.

So, when I do see some new activity at the location along 10th Avenue South, or hear of the possibility of one coming in, my ears perk up to what's going on.  A new fitness business was mentioned recently, and of course I had to check it out.  But I'm not sure if this one is going to be happening.

New Opportunity to Get Fit in Great Falls Coming Soon

On a local social media page recently, a person asked about a new business that was supposed to be opening soon in the Holiday Village Mall.  The new business, named Fit Life, was to be in the former location of Fit Republic, which closed nearly 3 years ago, in December of 2022.

The section of the mall stood empty until an announcement made in December of 2024 by Charter Realty, based in Connecticut, saying:

FITLife Health Clubs will be the newest tenant at Holiday Village Mall in Great Falls, MT, marking their 4th location and first in Montana. Scheduled to open in August 2025, this new addition will bring a state-of-the-art fitness experience to the region.

With August having come and now way gone, there still isn't even a sign on the doors of the old Fit Republic (though the signs for them are still there).  And since I work directly behind the location, I haven't noticed any activity there either.  What gives?

Is Fit Life Going to Be Here in Great Falls or Not?

I checked on the website of the Fit Life business, and yes, they do show a location "coming soon" to Great Falls.  They are even soliciting for people to join the wait list for the new location at 1200 10th Avenue South.

The web even lists a phone number to call, but in trying it, there wasn't an answer when I tried it.  And responses have gone unanswered on the original social media post making the announcement.  We'll keep digging to see if this is really happening in Great Falls or not.
