Montana Deputy of the Year from Cascade County

For law enforcement in Montana, and more specifically the Sheriff's Offices of our state, the Montana Sheriff's and Peace Officer Association (MSPOA) offers to improve the effectiveness of and to provide support for professional law enforcement in Montana.

Each year they host an annual awards banquet to honor those who have chosen to put their lives on the line every day to keep our citizens protected and safe from the criminal aspect.

Montana Deputy of the Year from Cascade County

Each year the MSPOA awards for Sheriff's Office law enforcement and support staff.

Those awards include:

• Deputy of the Year
• Detention Officer of the Year
• Valor Award
• Purple Heart Award
• Medal of Merit
• Tony Harbaugh Distinguished Career Award

During the convention, Cascade County Sheriff's Office deputies received two of those awards, including Deputy of the Year for the second year in a row.

Congratulations for These Law Enforcement in Cascade County

This year, Detective Sgt. Jacob Tri was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery during a Deputy involved shooting where he was shot and wounded earlier this year.  The incident happened in February of 2024 near McIver Road in Cascade County.

Also honored this year is Patrol Sgt. Joshua Harris as the State of Montana Deputy of the Year.  This is the second year in a row that the CCSO has won the Deputy of the Year award.
