Useful Home Tips - 5 Fantastic Uses for Cooking Spray

It can depend on the circumstances, but for general purposes, I am a pretty skeptical guy.  I mean, I am a glass half full kind of person, but I still am a little wary of where the water in the glass came from and what happened to the other half of it.

But anytime I find a good tip or hack, whether that be in my garage or the house, I have to try it.  Reach in your cupboard for this one, you will need your cooking oil spray to try some of these hacks and tips with me this weekend.

Not Just for the Kitchen - You Can Even Scrape off Grasshoppers with It

After learning what a great hack to get grasshoppers off of a vehicle is with cooking oil or spray, it had me thinking.  What other uses besides just on a pan or baking sheet this stuff could work on.

Having a romantic night at home with your significant other?  Have candlesticks that drip and stick?  Yep, you can use a little bit of spray cooking oil on that taper, and it will prevent the melted wax from sticking.

Cooking oil spray can also be used to remove pesky, gooey stickers from glassware with just a spray, let soak and simply wipe away.

Saving Your Containers and Your Fingers with Cooking Oil Spray

Other handy tricks with cooking spray include:

• If you use plastic containers for leftovers but they become stained, simply spray with cooking oil and it will help with odor and stains.  Even tomato sauce.
• Unstick a ring from your finger.  Just a squirt and it should slip right off that digit

Ever thought about using it for cheese?  Before you shred the block of muenster, spray your cheese grater with a light coating of cooking oil.  It will keep the cheese from gumming up.
