
New Mercantile Opens Between Great Falls and Lincoln
Astute drivers traveling between Great Falls and Lincoln, Montana this summer likely noticed some new construction happening near the familiar 4-way intersection of Bowman's Corner. And just like me, you probably pondered what it may be, especially near the highway.
In the last few months, construction at 8900 US Hwy 287 finally revealed an all-new business that is finally ready to serve weary travelers with a snack or coffee and to ensure the little needle on our vehicle gas gauge doesn't send us into a panic.

New Mercantile Opens Between Great Falls and Lincoln
The Flat Creek Mercantile began construction over the summer, with a country store feel as soon as construction was underway.
Updates throughout the process show a much different landscape at the familiar intersection:

The new mercantile will offer not just supplies like energy drinks and beef jerky to those using the "Montana Scenic Loop" highway, travelers can also fill up the tank. Never worry about taking that back road again!
First Customer Fills as New Venture Gets Underway on Montana Scenic Loop
The new business venture officially opened on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025, and it didn't take long for the first customer to roll through and begin filling up before the sunrise had made it even close to making an appearance:

Its official! We are open. We are working out the kinks and won't have water for coffee or a soda fountain for a few weeks, but we'll get there! Big thanks to all involved with this massive project and to our very first customer.
