
Winter Trails Day 2025: Free Snowshoeing and Skiing Fun
One of the best ways to get out and explore the backcountry here in Montana is by snowshoeing or cross-country skiing.
Needless to say, it provides for some epic photos and breathtaking views.
To help with this mission, Get Fit Great Falls in partnership with the US Forest Service will be hosting a guided event in February.
Winter Trails Day 2025
If you've ever wanted to try out snowshoeing or cross-country skiing, now is your chance to do it with some guided help!
The annual winter trails day is back on Saturday, February 1st.
This event provides the opportunity for new and experienced snowshoes and cross-country skiers to explore the Silvercrest Winter Recreation Area.
This event is free and open to the whole family.
If you don't have snowshoes of your own, no worries they will be provided free of charge by the US forest service, Wild Montana, and the Montana Discovery Foundation.
Snowshoe Hikes: Reserve Your Spot!
If you are interested in trying out snowshoeing, make sure you reserve a spot, so you don't miss out.
Pre-registration is required and opens on Wednesday, January 22nd.
Cross-Country Ski Tours
If you'd like to try out cross country skiing, join Bighorn Outdoor Specialist for guided cross-country tour at 10:30 AM on that same day.
Much like the snowshoeing tour space is limited so you need to reserve your spot by contacting Bighorn outdoor specialist.

They will provide skis at no cost and fitting ski boots at their shop the day before.
