Pet Food for Cats & Dogs Sold in Montana Under Important New Recall
Many of us watch what we put into our bodies but if you're a pet owner, there's a good chance (hopefully) that you're also paying close attention to what you put in your pet's body.
Montana pet owners should perk their ears up and pay attention with the latest expansion on a recall put out by Go Raw LLC.
Popular Dog Food Sold in Montana Gets Recalled
GO Raw LLC expanded a voluntary recall to include bags of Steve’s Real Food Chicken Recipe Freeze-Dried Pet Food. The bag is a beige, zip-locked, 1.25 lb. package with a maroon stripe and UPC 6-91730-18103-1.
According to the FDA, the expansion was due to "potentially low levels of thiamine (Vitamin B1)."
The FDA says thiamine is an "essential water-soluble vitamin required for normal carbohydrate metabolism and neurologic function in both cats and dogs."

Pets consuming the recalled product risk developing problems associated with thiamine deficiency. These include "decreased appetite, vomiting, excessive salivation, weight loss, or poor growth" and even neurological issues according to the FDA.
So, what should pet owners do about the Go Raw LLC pet food recall?
Steve's Real Food Recall Montana
