New York’s New Law is Perfect for Montana
I never thought in a million years that I would say the following words but here we are: the state of New York just did something right and Montana should follow suit.
But before you send me a piece of your Montana-born mind, hear me out - this is actually a positive thing.
New York AI Ad Law
As reported by Quartz and Yahoo!, New York is now the first state in the nation to require advertisers to disclose when an advertisement is made with AI actors.
"In New York, we are setting the rules of the road instead of letting AI run the show," Governor Hochul said in a statement shared by Yahoo!.
"Requiring simple, honest disclosure when an ad uses synthetic performers protects consumers, respects our creative workforce and keeps New York at the forefront of responsible innovation."
See what I mean? This isn't so bad, right?

I don't know about you, but I see this as an absolute win for Team Human. It used to be that most of us could spot an AI-generated video from a mile away.

But as technology continue to improve, the question of "is this AI?" is becoming all too common. The fact we're even having to stop, and question should be a sign that we need some sort of heads up.
New York's new law does just that and honestly, I think Montana should follow suit.
The technology is only going to improve and pretty soon, none of us will be able to tell the difference without a disclosure.
