3 Men Busted for Trafficking Drugs onto Montana’s Fort Peck Indian Reservation
Another day, another drug crackdown by law enforcement in Montana. Some might say, "Oh great, the growth of Montana is bringing more crime!"
I would argue the opposite. Our law enforcement has been on top of it and what people are hearing about is these people getting busted. You're not seeing headlines like "NEW CRACK DEALERS OPENS UP ON 10TH!"
If you're hearing more about crime, it's because first responders and law enforcement are cracking down on crime. If you're not hearing about it? Who knows what could be happening? I'd rather know bad people are being put away than wonder who hasn't been caught yet.
Interstate Drug Ring Shut Down in Montana
Three people (two from Michigan and one from Montana) made their appearance in court for being suspected of trafficking meth onto the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.

Authorities are alleging that the men: Vincent Earl Thompson, 26, from Clayton, Michigan; Derrick Byrd, 38, from Detroit, Michigan; and Michael Dean Grey Bear, 24, from Poplar, operated a drug trafficking business that brought meth in from Michigan to the reservation.
The trio got picked up while transporting the meth last month (September 2026) onto Fort Peck Indian Reservation.
Thank Our Law Enforcement!
As I said earlier, some might see this as another opportunity to blame reports of any crime on growth, but that's just not the case. The news of someone or multiple people getting caught is literally crime being taken off of the street.

Our law enforcement has been hard at work recently as evidenced by several other cases that our own Cascade County Sheriff's Office and Great Falls Police Department have assisted with.
The message is clear: criminals don't belong in Montana and if we see more cases like this, just remember that it's a report about criminals going away, not doing more crime.
