An interesting story is developing following a social media post from the district superintendent for Browning Public Schools. In the post, district superintendent Rebecca Rappold detailed an incident that took place at a McDonald's in Ronan, Montana involving student athletes from Browning Public Schools.

Browning Wrestling Team Denied Service

In a post shared to social media on Friday, district superintendent Rebecca Rappold shared that members of the Browning Public Schools wrestling team were denied service at McDonald's.

"I am writing to address an incident involving the Browning Boy's Wrestling Team that occurred on Thursday, January 15, during their travel from Polson to Missoula for the Rocky Mountain Wrestling Classic," Rappold shared in the post, "While the team was stopped at the Ronan McDonald’s, service was refused."

"The restaurant informed coaches and student-athletes that they would not serve Browning Public Schools. As a result, the team departed the location without being served. The Athletic Director worked with coaching staff to ensure students were safe and fed at another venue."

What Happened At The McDonald's In Ronan?

We reached out to the McDonald's in Ronan for comment but didn't get an answer and instead, received the message: "We’re sorry, the party you’re trying to reach has not set up service."

Folks over at KPAX-TV shared video of the incident to their YouTube channel.

The video doesn't really seem to show any major confrontation outside of the team being denied service. One has to wonder: why?

Why Would McDonald's Turn Down Browning Public Schools Wrestling Team?

Again, we tried to reach out to McDonald's in Ronan to no avail but there has to be some sort of reason, even if it's not a sensible one.

Was it due to the amount of work that would come with preparing a large order all at once? Was there a personal vendetta against Browning Public Schools?

It doesn't appear we'll get any answers directly from the folks over at McDonald's in Ronan but that isn't stopping the district superintendent from getting to the bottom of it.

"This incident is being fully investigated and appropriate steps will be taken, including legal steps, if necessary," Rappold wrote, "We appreciate the support of our community and remain committed to advocating for our students and upholding the values of Browning Public Schools."

"BPS will not stand down and walk away, this matter will be fully investigated and pursued to ensure this treatment does not continue."
