Rising Costs Force Multiple Airlines Flying Out of Montana to Raise Fees
It's no secret that things are getting more expensive. We're seeing it everywhere and unfortunately, what's going on over in Iran has impacted us over here when it comes to gas and fertilizer.
Now, we're seeing the airline industry responding to rising costs with raising certain fees.
The Airline Industry Endures Rising Jet Fuel Costs
Back in March, Forbes reported about the Iran conflict's impact on rising costs of jet fuel which led to some airlines increasing fares and fuel surcharges.
And while we're in the middle of a ceasefire, there's no telling what the oil market will look like in the future or how long it'll take for things to start coming down.

According to CNBC, the cost of jet fuel has doubled from $2.50 per gallon up to $4.88 per gallon since the conflict in Iran began and the Economic Times is reporting that global jet fuel prices boomed (no pun intended) from around $85 to $90 a barrel up to around a whopping $209 per barrel since the conflict started.
This is devastating for the airline industry as jet fuel makes up about 25-30% of airline operating costs according to IATA, so I can only imagine the financial hit the industry will suffer the longer we deal with issues in Iran.
Multiple Airlines Raise Baggage Fees to Absorb Rising Costs
Airlines across the board are looking for ways to save, or in this case make money to absorb rising operating costs.

To do that, multiple major airlines have recently announced changes to their baggage fees. On the other hand, there are multiple airlines who have not increased their baggage fees including Spirit Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and Allegiant Airlines.
As for the rest? Here are the new baggage fees you can expect to pay.
