When Will People Become Too Freaked Out To Fly?
Recent aviation disasters have blanketed the headlines nationwide.
Not long ago, Boeing had numerous issues with its aircraft, which caused many airline groundings.
So, at what point will people become too freaked out to continue flying?
Recent Aviation Disasters
By now, I'm sure you've heard about the aviation disaster in DC, the small plane crash in Philadelphia, and over the weekend, there was another issue with a United flight engine starting on fire.
With these recent aviation issues, you might hesitate to hop on a plane for your next trip.
But overall, even with the recent accidents, flying is still one of the safest modes of transportation.

How Safe If Flying?
Please keep in mind that I'm no expert in aviation safety, but I do have some understanding. I've been working on my pilot license for a little over a year, and much of the training I receive applies to all aviation.
- First and foremost, every time an aviation accident occurs, new rules and recommendations are implemented to ensure that a similar incident does not occur again. That's not to say that it can't happen, but the chances are significantly diminished.
- According to data from the National Transportation Safety Board looking at data from 1983 to 2000, 95.7% of plane occupants survived their travel.
- Planes have numerous backup systems. In many cases, there are literally backups to the backups. If something goes wrong, there is a strong possibility that you probably won't even know about the issue due to these methods.
So, next time you hop on a plane, rest assured that the odds are in your favor that nothing eventful will happen.
